Weekly Prayer Prompt

July 17

Reflect on this verse during the week and leave a comment as you feel led:

“But the Lord still waits for you to come to Him so He can show you His love and compassion.  For the Lord is a faithful God…”  Isaiah 30:18  New Living Translation

God wants to have a relationship with us.  He waits patiently for us to come to Him so that He can express His love for us.  His compassion is fresh every morning and it never runs out.  This week, make time to be in His presence as you walk the beach or relax in the sand.  Open your heart to Him and feel His presence all around you.  Who do you know that needs to feel that same love and compassion.

Reflect on this verse during the week and leave a comment as you feel led:

“The Lord will work out His plans for my life – for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.  Don’t abandon me, for you made me.”  Psalm 138:8  New Living Translation

God has a unique plan for each one of us.  Creating space in our busy lives for Him to share that plan is a challenge.  This week set aside some “alone” time with God.  Ask Him to share His next step with you, trusting in the promises of His Word that He will not forget or abandon you.  Note what’s been happening and how He what might be working on right now.

Reflect on this verse during the week and leave a comment as you feel led:

“Look to the Lord and His strength; seek his face always.”  Psalm 105:4 (NIV)

Each day brings its own measure of joy and concern.  It’s easy to give thanks and praise when the joys outnumber the concerns, but what about the days when the burdens are closing in?  Take a moment to turn your thoughts to Jesus.  Close your eyes and imagine Him looking at you.  Tell Him what you’re experiencing and ask for strength to go one more step.  Trust Him to supply just what you need now.

Reflect on this verse for the coming week and leave a comment as you feel led:

Psalm 19:1-2 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.  Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.” (NIV)

Creation causes us to say, “Wow God. What beauty!”  Unexpected life changes cause us to say, “Wow, God.  Why did you let that happen!”  God understands both “Wow’s” and wants to meet us in each place.  What are the “Wow’s” of your life today?  Tell God about them this week.

Weekly Prayer Prompt

May 15

Ephesians 3:16-19 (Selected) “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.  Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him.  Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully.  Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” (NLT)

Offer this prayer each day this week for our new members and for yourself.
